Immerse Yourself-Learn to Love

If you are reading this, then I am sure you have seen my recent blog posts about love. More than once I have used quotes from Leo Buscaglia. This guy was a love expert. But perhaps the coolest thing about him is that he treated life as a learning process. But not just in a ho-hum way. He was like an artist in that everything he did or said was brushed with flecks of love. Today"s quote: “A total immersion in life offers the best classroom for learning to love.” is simply stated but packs a quite meaningful punch. There is no singular definition of love. However, there are key components that show similarities between the types of love that exist. To understand love, is to immerse yourself in life.

Love is a Choice

In certain cultures, love is a taboo subject. Can you imagine that? We are created in love, yet, some cultures ignore the very essence of our beings. Thank heavens for Leo Buscaglia who had the good sense to turn it into a malleable concept. He has written many quotes, educated thousands, and kept pushing the envelope. The end results were put into reading form. His basic theory is that everyone can love. Love is one of the greatest things, but is also the most complex which is an opposing dichotomy given that we are created in love. Leo Buscaglia wrote: “It is difficult for some people to accept that love is a choice. This seems to run counter to the generally accepted theory of romantic love which expounds that love is inborn and as such requires no more than to accept it.”

Eyes are the Window to the Soul

People say that eyes are the window to the soul. Actually there seems to be quite a bit of a debate about who said it first. Shakespeare, Cicero, and DaVinci, are all eligible constituents for the popular epigram. I tend to agree with the well-known phrase. I think that so much can be said through the eyes. Emotions are conveyed throughout your entire being, not just your body language, but also your eye"s language. People can read fear, lust, envy, and many other emotions, in someone"s eyes. Interestingly enough, scientists have also researched pathways in the eyes that reveal not only character traits, but also illnesses and ailments. Bizarre, but not impossible. The human specimen never ceases to amaze me. I chose this quote today hoping to spark some interest in looking deeply into your loved one"s eyes. Maybe even learn how to read his or her soul. Gustavo Adolfo Becquer said: "The soul that can speak through the eyes can also kiss with a gaze." How lovely!

Love is Blind

Love. It is such a small word for it"s mighty power. From a very young age I have been fascinated with this word. Love is so powerful that the Greeks had a plethora of words to describe certain types of love: Eros, Phileo, Agape, Storge. Each of them mean something different. Even the Bible talks about Agape love. Love is never ceasing, loves endures everything, love is all-encompassing. Interestingly enough, love is also blind. I get a kick out of looking at odd couples. It just proves that love has infinite possibilities. Today"s quote is befitting in that regard: "No matter how ugly you think you are, that special someone that loves you believes you are the most beautiful and irresistible thing on earth and nothing can ever change that."

Let Love Grow

February is the most romantic month. Right? It means roses, heart-shaped boxes, chocolates, romance, etc. We have been conditioned to perform (and expect a showering of affection) on all the traditional Hallmark-hyped “holidays.” We go to the card isle, we pick out a sentimental love card, or a sappy Mother"s Day card, hoping to win the receiver of said card over. Hallmark has done one heck of a job marketing love, and we expect it. Today is Valentine"s Day, and millions of people are racing all over creation to find THE perfect gift, card, romantic gesture, and on and on and on. But love is so much more than a Hallmark moment. Love needs to be cultivated, fed, nurtured, for it to grow. Let love grow.

Recover Quickly, Shake Off Negative Thoughts

How can you recover quickly and shake off negative thoughts, in order to perform well in your golf game? When you consider that you have about 60,000 thoughts each day, most of which you had yesterday, it may sound like an impossible task. That is because people don’t really know any different, even if they have good intentions to be otherwise. Why is that? Why can’t you hit one bad shot and just shake it off, instead of berating yourself about the lousy play, or wondering what you should have done differently? Well, when you begin to understand more about the mind, you will see that most of your thoughts are limiting you and hampering your ability to recover quickly and shake it off.

5 Overlooked Truths About Thinking

taken from The Mind Unleashed

By: David Cain

People don’t talk about thinking very much. We talk about what we’re thinking aboutall the time, but rarely do we talk about thinking itself. Thinking is a huge part of our lives, maybe the most prominent part of our experience. It affects everything else in life too. It affects your actions, your self-image, your possibilities in life, your stress levels and your health. Your thinking habits determine whether your predominant experience in life is one of fear, excitement, abundance or scarcity.

Cardiologists Say: Don"t Vaccinate

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

taken from The Mind Unleashed

The American media has been swarmed with stories about vaccinations in recent weeks, after nearly 100 cases of measles have been identified, originating from an outbreak at Disneyland. The mainstream media and government agencies have been quick to blame this situation of families who chose not to vaccinate, but a number of the original Disneyland cases actually were vaccinated.

People contract illnesses that they are vaccinated for fairly often, in fact, just this week it was reported that a 5-year-old girl died from the flu just weeks after receiving the vaccine.

Top Healthful Foods That Reduce Inflammation

There seems to be a growing number of people with inflammatory issues.  I have noticed myself, on occasion, waking up with pain or inflammation and trying to think back to what I ate.  Food is generally the culprit to inflammatory issues.  The more processed foods that go into your body, the more you feel the effects of inflammation.  However, the good news is we can counteract the problems, while simultaneously reducing inflammation.

Love the Challenges of Golf

I am at the point in my life where I love challenges that present themselves, because I know that I become more confident in my abilities to face them each and every time. How do you feel about the challenges you face in golf? Do you welcome them and really enjoy taking them on, or do they frustrate and upset you? How about challenges you face off the course?
